Brad and I started our journey to becoming
parents the May of 2012. We tried naturally for a year before I went to my
doctor for answers. My doctor, at that time, ordered a PCOS (Poly Cystic
Ovarian Syndrome) test and my results came back NEGATIVE; I was not ovulating
on my own so my doctor suggested Clomid. Clomid was very hard on me physically
and emotionally.
After my third cycle of Clomid I discovered I had
some lesions on my brain that needed attention. I underwent several test
including 4 MRI’s and spinal tap to try and discover what was causing the
lesions. The doctors assumed I had MS (multiple sclerosis) and I was taking
every test known to diagnose MS. Four months later, I was clear of having MS.
My neurologist came to the conclusion my lesions were either caused by migraines
or at some point in time my body had an internal infection that spread to my
brain.
After months uncertainty, Brad and I decided it
was time to move on to a fertility specialist. The first time we met with our fertility
specialist he suggested I have an exploratory surgery to make sure everything was
ok with my reproductive organs. I prayed about it and decided to go ahead with
the surgery and scheduled it for that following week.
When I awoke from surgery, my doctor informed me
that I did in fact have PCOS along with endometriosis, polyps on my uterus and
somehow my left ovary was being suffocated by my bowels. My doctor believes
this happened back when I had my gall bladder removed; be thinks I had an
infection in my body that caused my ovary to become attached and eventually
suffocated by my bowel. Which now makes me wonder if this is the same reason I have
lesions on my brain… but that’s just a guess.
My fertility specialist suggested I take Femara to help with ovulation, he also asked me to try to lose weight to help
with my PCOS. My first month on Femara I had a positive O on day 17 but no
baby Jolly. I am now on my second round of Femara but I am also taking
metformin to help with my PCOS and I have lost 6 pounds so far this month. Fingers
